Friday Favorites

It's been awhile since I've done my Friday Favorites, so why not start back today?!

Favorite Adoptable Boston Terrier:  Little Bill

This little cutie had a broken jaw when he came into the rescue.  He probably got hit by a car.  He's had lots of dental work done.  And he's now ready for his forever family.  To adopt Little Bill, head on over to www.southerncrossbtr.com and fill out an application.  If I knew he'd do great with Daisy, I wouldn't hesitate in adopting him.  Look at that face!!!

Favorite Reality TV Show: Dancing With The Stars

Yeah yeah......Say what you want, but these two....this is why I'm hooked this season....

Meryl and Maks!  Can these two just please date?!  My gosh.  The chemistry on the dance floor is out of this world.  I can't quit watching them.  And let's not forget Candace Cameron and Danica McKeller.  I watched them growing up.  And they are still awesome!  Meryl's ice partner Charlie is amazing too.  But I can't keep my eyes off how stinkin' adorable Meryl and Maks are!!!

Favorite Comedy TV Show: Sirens

It's a new show on USA Network.  Very similar to Scrubs....which is why I probably LOVE it!!!  Be prepared to sit on the couch and laugh!  And if you're like me, and live in a townhouse, be prepared for your neighbors to ask you what was so funny.  Yes, it's that's funny!

Favorite Water Flavor: Fuji Apple by Skinny Girl

Yes, I'm obsessed.  End of story.

Favorite Craft Inspiration: DIY Corkboard Jewelry Organizer

Be prepared to see me make one of these soon.  I'm obsessed.  Wouldn't take up much space.  Practical.  Can't think of anything I don't LOVE about it!

Favorite Bible Verse: Matthew 28:6

With Easter this weekend, we are reminded that Jesus triumphed over the grave.  He arose.  He has risen!!  He proved to us how much He loves us.  Even though we sin day after day, He still loves us and forgives us.  We just have to ask for forgiveness.

Favorite Song: I Don't Dance by Lee Brice

This is one of the sweetest songs I've heard in a long time.  I can't get enough of it!

I hope your Easter weekend is fabulous.  Enjoy time with your family!

Friday Favorites

I only worked 4 days this week, but whew, I'm exhausted.  And I'm beyond excited that it's Friday!

Without further adieu, here's my Friday Favorites!

This tutorial from JUST A GIRL and her blog makes me think that even I can could do this!  I can't wait to try it out sometime soon.

Favorite Design Idea: Candles Above the Bed
I'm loving this idea from Golden Boys & Me.  The candles above the bed.  Ahh....it's just perfect.  I think I may need to try this soon.

Favorite Quote: Don't Compare
We've all done it in life.  We compare ourselves to others.  We ask others for advice.  It's easy to not want to be different, but sometimes being different is the best thing you could do!  It leads to much better endings!

Favorite Bible Verse: Proverbs 31:25
How hard is it to go through life fearing the future?  We all do it.  But when we let it go...like really let it go...and allow God to guide, that fear of the future is gone!

Favorite Adoptable Dog: Sophie
Sophie is being fostered through Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue.  Her foster mom is awesome!  Poor little girl, she's tested positive for heartworms again.  I hear that she's one sweet Boston who would love an amazing family.  If you think you would like to open your heart and home to Sophie, please consider filling out an adoption application at Southern Cross Boston Terrier's website.

Favorite Song: Sunny and 75
It's no secret that I'm a big Joe Nichols fan, but my goodness...I cannot get this song out of my head.  It's so catchy and so good.  Have a listen.  I'm sure you'll be hooked to!

How's your week been?  Anything exciting happening in your life?  Any favorite things you'd like me to discover?  Leave me a comment!

Happy Friday ya'll!

Friday Favorites

It's finally Friday!

Are you as excited as I am?

So here are some of my favorites for the week...

With the weather getting so cold so fast, this is all I want.  Let me just say that putting Samuel Adams in makes this even better.

Favorite Sign: Sweet Tea Served Here
O.M.G.  Does this person know me?  Ha!  I don't serve alcohol at my get-together's, I serve sweet tea!  I can see something with this saying happening in my kitchen soon.

Favorite TV Show: VH1's Tough Love
I guess it's my crazy way of wanting to understand people, but I LOVE this show.  The host, Steve, really breaks down what's wrong with the people in relationships.  Actually, it's a great show to make you take a look deep inside yourself too.

Favorite Song: Thomas Rhett's, "It Goes Like This"
How sweet is this song?!  What girl wouldn't want a guy to write a song about them or for them?!

Favorite Adoptable Boston Terrier: Dollie
Look at that smile.  How can your heart not melt for Miss Dollie?!  If you're interested, fill out an application for her at Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue's Site.  I think she'd make a wonderful addition to someones family!

Favorite Bible Verse: Joel 3:10
I've been reading a book by Joel Osteen lately.  He is the most positive person I've ever heard of.  He says all the time how important it is to speak positive thoughts instead of negative thoughts.  This picture really puts this verse into perspective.

I hope your Friday has been just as good as mine!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Tucker

I haven't had the chance to tell you about my foster dog Tucker because I've been so busy working with him.

Let me tell you his story.

Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue got a call about a small Boston Terrier in the Louisville, KY shelter.  They had tried to adopt him out at the shelter, but while in his cage one day, a worker stuck their hand in and he nipped at them.  Since it drew blood, they had to quarantine him.  As soon as he was allowed out of quarantine, our rescue picked him up.

He was transported to me.  At this time, his name was Theo.  My first introduction to him was he jumped up from the floor and his tooth meet mine.  Yep, first realization that I had a jumper.  He was excellent on the car ride home.

Once at home, I started watching him very closely to see what all we needed to work on.  A lot of big dogs terrified him, he's overly anxious when it comes to food, he has a very small attention span, he's more anxious and on guard around men, he's pushy with his foster sister.

After realizing these were the things that need to be worked on, the process started.  First order of business...change his name.  I had to disassociate him with his life at the shelter.  Every time I looked at him, all I could think of was Tucker.  So I called him Tucker to see what he would do.  He instantly looked at me and started minding.  So there it was.  He was Tucker!

He's very food driven.  I had to learn to get him to focus.  I started using Cheerio's to teach him to sit.  I think it was actually his foster sister, Daisy, that taught him to sit!  After sit, he learned the wait command.  He does very well with this command.  It's actually impressive with his short attention span.

Because he's overly excited when it's dinner time, I worked extremely hard with him on learning to be calm, sit and wait for food.  He's a different dog.  It's amazing.  Even after he's eaten, he's learned that he can't take Daisy's food.  So he will sit next to her while she's eating and not try to go after her food.  As soon as she's done and I've given him the okay, he will then, and only then, lick her bowl!

As far as big dogs and men.  This was a bit of work.  I had a guy and his dog come over and help me with this.  I have to say, this was foreign territory to me.  I had never had to work on this with another dog before.  They slowly got closer to Tucker.  Once we saw that the other dog was stressing him out too much, we put the dog in another room and focused on Tucker with men.  Once he had warmed up and wasn't scared at all, we brought the dog back in.  Tucker was also getting a "attitude adjustment".  He needed to know who was in control. He was put on his side in a submissive position.  The other dog started out way across the room and slowly moved toward Tucker over a period of time.  Tucker did a lot better with him.  It still took some time, but within minutes, the two dogs were laying next to each other!

I thought this was conquering his fear of big dogs.  Guess I was wrong.  I took him to the vet yesterday and he saw a big dog and freaked out.  But then he saw another one and did nothing.  So I guess it's just going to depend on the dog as to how he will react.

So the question I know you're still trying to figure out.  He nipped at someone at the shelter...so what about now?  Well, I wish I could say that it's 100% fixed and that he never nips, but I'd be lying.  Tucker is only 1 1/2 years old, so he does still puppy nip to an extent.  It's getting better and better every single day though.

What type of family and I looking to place Tucker with?  A family with a strong hand.  Someone that will show him who is boss.  Tucker needs this more than anything.  He's a fun loving little Boston that could be happy anywhere.  But like anyone, he needs structure.  He needs a routine.  He needs someone to show him that they are in control and he's not.  He needs lots of love.

I can't wait to see who will be interested in him!  Time to let the fun begin of meeting new people and seeing where the best fit for Tucker will be.

Clark Kent aka Little Superman

There's also something magical about getting that first picture of your new foster dog that puts a big ole smile on your face.  That's exactly what happened!  They called this guy Beans.  I didn't like that name.  After I heard his story, I had a better name for him.

He came from Metropolis, IL where he was running the streets.  He was picked up and scheduled to be euthanized within the hour when another shelter in town took him in.  That's when Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue got the phone call.  What's the chances of ever getting a dog from Metropolis, IL?  I had to go with a Superman name.  So I named him Clark Kent!

On a side note, the day I was going to pick him up, I saw this car...

Looks like a sign that Clark Kent aka Little Superman was the perfect name for him!

I picked the little guy up and well, he wasn't so little.  He was a TALL Boston.  But from that first few moments in the car with him, I knew he was something special.

When we got to the house, Daisy wasn't too sure about him.  She was a little standoffish.  But Clark had this special way about him.  He would just start easing into being her friend.  He would jump up on the bed next to her and lay there very calmly until she was interested in him and then he'd be off again.  Just enough to peek her interest.  He did this until she was ready to be friends with him.  Once they became friends, they were hard to separate.  Where one was, so was the other.

This was bizarre because Daisy never lets a foster get this close to her.  He gave her so much confidence.  She's a different dog all because of him!  It's amazing.

Clark was my buddy!  He had to see me at all times.  He didn't always follow me, but he just had to know exactly where I was.

And this dog would sleep on his back!  He would be so comfortable and just all laid out.  It was quite a sight to see!

I even had friends come over for a game night and he became best friends with two of the guys.  He would quietly get up on the bench to sit right next to them before they even knew it!

Here he is with Foley and Zach:

And again with Foley:

The last morning was so hard to part with him.  Even though he liked to steal my pillow, he was the sweetest thing!

Even though Clark was having some separation anxiety problems, there was a lady in our group that had moved to FL wanted to adopt him.  She drove all the way up to Nashville from Florida to pick him up.  He's doing so well with her.  No separation anxiety anymore.  I tried to tell her that I'd take him back, but she said he was happy with her!

He was one special foster.  I miss him so very much.  He gave Daisy so much confidence and was a joy to have around.  I will miss Clark for a very long time.  But I know he's doing to do amazing things for people.

See, part of the reason she chose Clark was because she wanted a dog to take to sick people and help rehabilitate them by having a dog around.  I know Clark was the dog for the job.  Reasons like this make it so much easier to adopt dogs out.  When you know they will do great things or strive in their new family or be loved to an extreme.  This is how you know you can let them go.

I've been extremely blessed with all my fosters that they have gone to amazing homes.  Their families love them so much and they are doing great things for them.  God always seems to bring the right people to the right dogs!

Bye little superman!  Momma Luella is going to give you an amazing home in the Sunshine State!

And one more thing, Clark's new name is Cooper Jackson!

A Barney (Buddy) Update

I love when my fosters get adopted and I get updates!  And that's exactly what's happened with Buddy...now Barney!

His parents tell me that he's doing great, but FULL of energy!  Then again he is just a year and a half old.  But he's learning and fitting into the family so well.

Just look at these pictures!!

Isn't he adorable?!?!  And on a side note, I'm in love with the Mickey Mouse bed!

I get the same two question all the time... "How can you get rid of a foster dog?" and "Don't you just fall in love with them?"

Look at these pictures.  How can you not let them go to a wonderful family?  Knowing that you were there just for when they needed you most to bridge the gap for them to find their forever family, it makes it so much easier to let them be adopted.  And when you know the family that is adopting them is loving them, how can you not want to give them up?!

And yes, I fall in love with every single one of my fosters...how can you not?!

So moral of the story?  If I were to keep my fosters, I wouldn't want to foster and that's one less Boston I could save.

But this is one of my favorite success stories!!  Barney is one happy Boston and I couldn't be happier for him and his family!

Through The Eyes of Buddy

After spending almost a week with Buddy now, it's made me really put into perspective how he is seeing the world.  Half of what he is experiencing is the first time he's ever experienced it.  Things other dogs that have been loved have experienced.  Things like a couch, toys, stairs, a dog bed, plenty of water, being showed love, feeling safe and secure, having a roof over his head, hearing a microwave, hearing the washing machine and dryer, seeing himself in a mirror, seeing a TV, and having freedom.

He's picking up on things so fast.  Learning that someone can love him and keep him safe.  To think that over a week ago, he must have been scared to death not knowing where he would get his next meal from or who would harm him.

I can't imagine what that would feel like.  To live with no shelter over your head...no wonder he doesn't want to be out in the rain anymore.  To not know if you're going to get water or not.  That's why he's constantly wanting to drink more.  To not know if the next person coming to see you is going to harm you.  That's why he crawls and is timid when meeting new people.

Buddy has come a very long way in a very short amount of time.  He's beginning to trust and know what some freedom is.  I think I'm the only person that has seen his crazy fun personality, but I think he'll start showing that with others soon....once he realizes that other people aren't out to harm him either.

He's made me really take note of the simple things in life and enjoy them for what they are.  So many life lessons have been learned in just a week....for me!  And I know that more lessons will continue to be learned the longer he's with me.

I do think God even puts dogs in your life at a certain time for certain reasons.  I am truly blessed that He chose me to foster Buddy.

And Here's Buddy...

Sorry that there have been no updates since I got this super cute little guy.  He's been keeping me a bit busy.  This is the youngest foster I've had and boy is he a handful!  He's on the go from morning till night.

The only issues I've had with Buddy are when he's around Daisy.  He's overly obsessed with her.  But think about it.  He came from a puppy mill/backyard breeder.  This means that his only purpose in life was to mate.  Even though he's been neutered, it still takes up to 30 days for the testosterone to die down.  So I'm having to keep him away from Daisy as much as I can since she's scared to death of him when he comes at her.

The first night went well.  The second night....yeah....I was beyond ready to pull out my hair. He whined and barked all night long while he was in the crate.

That's when I reached out for advice from other members of Southern Cross.  I was given the advice of a "calm collar".  Why not give it a try!  Then I was also given the advice to tether his leash to my bed frame so he couldn't go after Daisy, but so that he wasn't in the crate and was next to me the whole night.

I don't know if it was the combination of both or what, but it worked like a charm!  This dog slept so good that he was snoring so loud!

He even took Daisy's dog bed and well....folded it over and slept on top of it....

Who says you have to sleep IN the bed anyways?!

I can tell he's all puppy because he LOVES to play.  He's always grabbing toys and playing for a few minutes with them before he moves to the next.  He has an obsession with trying to take my phone and chew on it!  He's gone through my mail and my purse and even tried to take my flip flops!

But with all that being said, he's so eager to learn.  He only wants to please you.

When he meets new people, he crawls to them because he's learning if he can trust them or not.  But he's very gentle and sweet to everyone he meets.

It's funny to watch this little guy.  When he first got here, it was obvious that he had never seen or used stairs.  He finally has that mastered.  And well, the couch....even though he's big enough to jump on it, he does this climb and always seems to need help getting the rest of the way up.

And tonight he's finally discovered how to sleep on the pillows on the couch!  Isn't he the cutest thing you ever did see?!

His bio should be going up on Petfinder tonight.  He's available for adoption through Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue for a fee of $300.  An application must be filled out and a home visit will have to be completed.

Here's a few more pictures of Buddy:

To see more pictures, search Instagram for #southerncrossbtr.

This little guy is my biggest challenge yet, but I'm learning more from him than I have through any others so far.  Buddy will always hold a special place in my heart!!

Sadie Lou Has Been Adopted!!

Well, it's true!  Sadie Lou has been adopted!!  By who?  The president of Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue, Linda!  Her and her husband completely fell in love with her and she fits in perfectly with her new sisters.

I know God had a hand in this.  I was beyond tempted to want to keep her had she come back to me.  So far, God has given all 3 of my fosters their forever homes before I had the chance to even think about it.

The good thing about that?!  This mean I can keep on fostering!  Had I adopted, I don't think I would have been able to add another dog into my home any time soon.

Nothing makes me happier than to know that Sai, Chico (Charlie) and Sadie are in their perfect forever homes!

Now it's time to move on to Buddy.  He already has a family waiting.  I've got to work quick to get this little guy ready and I'm up for that challenge.

For tonight, my heart is happy!!  Sadie Lou is exactly where she needs to be.  Yes, I will miss her.  And yes, I wanted her to come back to me.  But knowing she is with a family that will love her and give her everything she needs, should she have any issues in her life, makes me not only have a smile on my face, but a smile in my heart!

Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue

New Foster: Buddy

Well, the reason I am not getting Sadie Lou is back is because I'm getting a new Boston!!  That's the good part...another dog is being saved.  The bad part....where Buddy came from.

I want you all to take this journey with me.  I want to document what it takes to foster a Puppy Mill dog.  Yes, you heard right....Buddy comes out of a Puppy Mill.

The few things I know about Buddy are that he is only a year old, 22 pounds and not house trained.

One of our Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue members, Bill, went to the shelter and picked him up along with a 4 year old Boston from the same Puppy Mill.  Here's a little of his e-mail yesterday with some information on the boys:

Both being neutered in the morning. Getting bathed and all their shots today. Sammy is 20 Pounds and Buddy is 22 pounds. I will send more pictures ASAP. Both need to be housebroken and learn to walk on a leash. Buddy is a year old and a little timid but no problem. Sammy is 4 years old and is not happy on the leash. They road in the car without making a sound. They REALLY SMELLED BAD!!!
They came from terrible conditions and are none the worse for it. Outside in open pens with no cover very little food or water. They get along with each other which is amazing for 2 male breeder dogs and have no problem with people. Of course they will both need more socializing.
One more thing the lady said the dogs have put on 5-6 pounds in the last few weeks. Can you imagine what they looked like. They were covered with fleas and ticks, had worms and tape worms. Stool was black. How these 2 never got HW is beyond me.
Just reading that makes me furious that someone would treat dogs like this.  They deserve so much more life than being contained to a crate and only having interaction with other dogs just to mate.

Yes, it's going to be a major challenge with Buddy, but knowing my house is where he will learn to be a happy little guy makes me beyond happy.  I've read several articles about Puppy Mill dogs and I'm just in shock at how much these dogs have to learn how to trust people.  I'm just very very thankful that Buddy is only a year old and hopefully will be quick to trust and learn.

Here are the few pictures I have of Buddy:

Keep coming back here to find daily updates on Buddy!  Also, if you fall in love with him, please go to the Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue's website and fill out an application.  If you're on Instagram, I will be posting pictures under #southerncrossbtr.  Hopefully we can all start to post pictures and you can see more of our beautiful fosters!

Sadie Lou Update

It's been awhile, but I do have an update on Sadie Lou.  She went to Indiana with our Southern Cross Boston Terrier President, Linda.  There she was to see her doctor and have the knee surgery that she needed.  I received this letter from Linda last week:

Sadie did see my vet Monday and she did not have to have the patella surgery. Dr. G did x-ray of hips, pelvis and knees. She has had a pelvic fracture which was left to heal and the bone is rotated in causing the thigh bone to be pushed (bowed) out. He could not even feel her kneecaps, on the x-ray you can see that they are up on the thigh bones and attached to the bone. All this is what is causing her to be bow-legged and walk stiff legged. None of this is giving her any pain or difficulty and therefore Dr's opinion is that going in and trying to correct anything is going to give her real problems at 6 1/2 yrs old. Said if he had to guess he would say she has probably been hit by a car and it's been sometime back. She does need to put on a couple pounds and we are working on that. She is a true sweetheart and when she jumps up in your lap she quick like a rabbit and floats through the air like a feather  :)  She will be going back to Michelle as soon as we can arrange and I know Michelle can't wait.
Not exactly the results we were hoping for, but it's so good to know that she's not in pain from it.  It saddens me to think someone didn't care for her properly and never took her in after being hit by a car.  My heart breaks to think of all the horrible times she's gone through.  But I can rejoice knowing that she is beyond happy now.  Whether she's with me or with Linda or with whoever her forever family will be.  She's just the sweetest little Boston I've ever been around.

The family that was interested in her did some hard thinking and decided that Sadie might not be best for their family since there would be no surgery done.  They weren't prepared to deal with the possibilities of hard times with her joints in the future.  They also didn't think she was 6 1/2 years old and were hoping for a younger Boston.

What does all that mean?  Sadie Lou will be back up for adoption soon.  So if you know anyone that would be interested in her, please let me know.  I will be extremely picky in finding her forever family.  She deserves the best and that's what she is going to get!  With that said, she will effortlessly fit into pretty much any family.  Just be prepared for plenty of snuggles!!!!

And to answer the question of when will Sadie Lou be coming back to me?  Well, the plan was for her to come back to me yesterday, but that changed.  Our rescue has gotten an extreme amount of Boston's needing foster homes within the past week.  Since we have several approved applications, I was asked to take in a little guy and get him house trained and he will hopefully soon have a forever family!  So I'd say that I should have Sadie back in a month...unless Linda falls in love and decides to keep her!

I also want to mention one thing.  Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue is always in need of foster homes.  If you have ever wanted to try fostering, please consider it.  And please fill out an application on the Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescue Website.  If you have any questions about fostering, please please please ask.  I will tell you any and everything I can.  This is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.

Sadie Lou's Vet Visit

Wednesday Sadie Lou went to see Dr. Benner at Village Vet in Mt. Juliet.  She was such a brave little girl.  During the visit, she got microchipped.

On a side note...have you seen the needle they use to do the microchip??  It just made me hurt!!  But Sadie Lou didn't even flinch.  She's one tough cookie.

He also checked her out to make sure she was healthy and to see what any issues could be.  Dr. Benner noticed a few things.  First off, he said that she wasn't as malnourished as she could be.  That was amazing news!!!!

With every good news, there's bad too.  She had some puffiness around her eye and she's having to take Benadryl for it.  Then she has a tender spot on her leg.  She keeps licking it.  When he felt of it, he said he's pretty sure that leg was broken at some point and no one ever fixed it.  He gave us an antihistamine for that.  Then he noticed that her knee caps were permanently dislocated.  This is why she's bow legged.  He said that was the only comfortable way for her to walk.  Needless to say, if she gains weight, the knees are going to be a big issue and surgery might be necessary.  Sadie also has a skin allergy and she has to be bathed twice a week with shampoo with no soap.  (Yes, they do make this...and I use it for Daisy too!!)

Currently, Sadie Lou is taking an antihistamine twice a day, a supplement twice a day and Benadryl twice a day.  However, she's in great spirits.  Such a sweet little girl.

If you are interested in helping out with her medical expenses or any other Boston in the Southern Cross Boston Terrier Rescues medical expenses, please go to their website and donate.  Or come to the Boston Tea Party on October 20, 2012 at Edwin Warner Park in Nashville, TN from 10am - 4pm.  Lunches are $6 a person and there will be plenty of silent auction items to bid on.  All proceeds from the silent auction will go towards the medical expenses of these Boston's.

We've saved a life by getting them out of a shelter, but several of them have such a long road to go.  Any monetary help is extremely appreciative.

Thank you in advance!

And keep checking back for more updates on Sadie Lou!!!

Yard Sale Saturday - Goodbye Chico - Hello "Sissy"

Wow!  This has with been such a crazy week.  Time to feel you in on everything.  But let's start with my yard sales finds from yesterday.  I didn't get too much in this weekend.  Only one yard sale and one estate sale.  But I did still get a few good things!!

Let's break it down....

Here's some cute wooden bookends for $1.

The big vase was 50 cents and the 2 small vases were 25 cents each.

Picture frames for 25 cents each.

4 square cork boards for 25 cents each.  A total of $1.

Two large pieces of lace for $1 each.

Paint brushes and a scraper!  25 cents each.

A cute little clay pot for 50 cents.

I love tin plates!  And only 25 cents!!

A cute little lamp that just needs a shade.  Bought this for $1.50.

So there were my yard sale finds from yesterday.

Now, onto my fostering.

I got a call early on Friday from Bo's (Sai) adopted mom.  She said that she was way too attached to him and couldn't handle the thought of giving him up.  This made my heart jump for joy!!!  I knew this family was the perfect match for Sai when I left him with them.  I'm just so glad they realized it!  She's going to get him into training classes and have someone work with them on the weekends.  She's really becoming a wonderful dog mom!!

Not knowing if Sai was coming back to me, arrangements were made to put Chico into another foster home.  Of course, on the last few days, Daisy and Chico became friends!  They would play and play and play together.  They kept sharing the same toy and trying to take it from each other.  It was sooo cute!!  It was hard to see him go.  But he's in a great home with Bill and Gayle.  Here's some pictures of the last few days with Chico.

Little Chico looking out the door.

Me, Chico and Daisy looking out the door.

Chico and Daisy playing with the same toy.

Since Chico wasn't with me and Sai didn't come back to me, I was the first person they thought of when a new little girl was coming in.  I was told that she was left at a shelter in the drop pin in Manchester, TN.  She's around 4 year old and they didn't expect her to be in good shape at all.  We also heard that she was severely under weight.  Here was the first picture I received of her:

Several people told me to get ready because she might be heartworm positive and have a ton of health issues.

Wyndi and Sherry picked her up from the shelter and took her to their vet.  They got AMAZING news!!  She was healthy.  No heartworms...no parasites....no mange!!  The biggest  problem she has is that she is extremely malnourished.  She weighs 11 pounds and needs to be about the size of Daisy...14 pounds.  So she has a little way to go, but we're going to get there!

I picked her up from Wyndi and Sherry Saturday afternoon.  The name the shelter gave her was "Sissy".  The first thing they said to me was "please change her name".  I was so glad!  She didn't look like a Sissy.

I'm still not 100% what I'm going to name her.  She's a little feisty thing, but as sweet as she can be.  You can tell in the next pictures just how malnourished she is.

That's Daisy on the left and little girl on the right.  Can you see how underweight she is?

That's little girl in front and Daisy behind her.  Someday she'll be the size of Daisy!

Look at this sweet little face!!!

So there's the latest!  Any advice for what to name this little girl?  I need ideas!!!
